at St. Alban’s!

Your unique talents are vital to our church family. At St. Alban's, we grow in three dimensions: UPWARD in our relationship with God through worship and music, INWARD through spiritual formation and discipleship, and OUTWARD through service to our parish and the wider community.

Each person brings unique gifts that help our church thrive. Explore the opportunities below to discover where your interests align with our needs—your involvement strengthens us all as we journey together in faith.

Growing Upward by serving God & parish

Parish Choir

The St. Alban's Parish Choir enriches our worship through beautiful anthems and passionate musical leadership. These dedicated volunteers from our congregation bring sacred music to life every Sunday from late August through early June, as well as during special liturgical celebrations throughout the year. Their voices guide our communal worship while fostering fellowship among those who share a love of sacred music. New singers are always welcome!

Young People's Choir

Our Young People's Choir brings together singers from first grade through middle school, with no previous musical experience needed. These talented young musicians add energy and joy to our worship, especially during their spotlight performances on Christmas Eve and the Sunday following Easter. The choir develops musical skills while creating friendships across age groups. All students are welcome to join this fun and rewarding musical community!

All-Ages Handbell Choir

St. Alban's offers two handbell ensembles that enhance our worship. Our Adult Handbell Choir performs monthly during Sunday services, while our Youth Handbell Choir performs as they develop their skills. Both groups welcome ringers of all experience levels, creating beautiful music through teamwork. The distinctive sound of handbells brings a special dimension to our worship. New ringers are always welcome!

Sharing Our Spiritual Journeys

Looking for meaningful connections with others on a spiritual path? Join us as we build community through honest conversations about our faith journeys. Each week, we explore thought-provoking topics that spark discussions about our own experiences and questions.

We meet weekly in the Youth Room with 20-30 regular attendees.

Choose from two convenient sessions: Thursday mornings from 10-11:30 or Thursday afternoons from 2-3:30.

Everyone's perspective is welcomed and valued here—we learn from each other while deepening our relationship with God. Whether you're new to faith discussions or a longtime seeker, sharing is completely optional. SOSJ happens in an atmosphere of respect and openness, and all adults are welcome.

Contact Jim Franks to learn more.

Men’s Bible & Book Study

Ready for good conversation, casual fellowship, and spiritual growth? Join us on Fridays at noon in the library, where we share lunch snacks while diving into scripture. Our friendly group explores Bible books and faith-based writings - but no previous Bible knowledge is needed to jump in! Whether you're a scripture scholar or just Bible-curious, you'll find a welcoming spot at the table.

We meet on Fridays from 11-noon.

Growing Outward through parish ministry

St. Alban’s Altar Guild

Join the team that prepares our sacred spaces for worship. Altar Guild members care for the sanctuary, vestments, and communion elements that enhance our services. This behind-the-scenes ministry offers a meaningful way to serve with reverence and attention to detail. Your hands help create the sacred environment where our community gathers each week. No prior experience needed.

Eucharistic Visitors

Extend our communion table beyond church walls by bringing the sacrament to homebound members. This rewarding ministry creates meaningful connections with those unable to attend services due to illness or limited mobility. You help ensure everyone remains connected to our church family through brief visits and sharing the Eucharist. Training is provided for this special ministry of presence and care.

Acolytes

Help lead our congregation in worship as part of the altar party! Acolytes carry the cross and torches in procession, assist with communion, and support the Gospel reading. This ministry welcomes both youth and adults who want to participate more actively in our services. Training is provided as you learn this important worship role that helps create our sacred atmosphere during services.

In addition to these, you can serve through our Prayer Chain, Prayer Shawl ministry, flower delivery to homebound members, or memorial receptions. During worship, participate as an usher, chalice bearer, lector, or by offering Unction prayer. Each role provides a meaningful way to care for our church family.

Growing Outward by serving our community

St. Alban's outreach supports Southern Arizona and global needs through St. Andrew's Children's Clinic, Imago Dei, Primavera, Casa Maria, Interfaith Community Services, Youth On Their Own, Felicia's Farms, Young Life, and Tucson Home Sharing. Some of our ministry partners are featured below.

Bread Run for Casa Maria

Help fight hunger by delivering day-old bread and food from local supermarkets to Casa Maria, which serves over 600 meals daily to those in need. Parish volunteers take turns making these important deliveries that help sustain this vital South Tucson community resource.

Mother's Day Food Drive

Honor important women in your life by participating in our annual food drive, a parish tradition for over 30 years. Donations of food and funds help restock Guadalupe Kitchen's pantry, supporting their mission to feed Tucson's hungry. This meaningful opportunity connects your personal gratitude with community service.

Imago Dei School

Support this tuition-free school serving low-income minority students in Tucson. Our parishioners provide financial assistance and volunteer as board members, academic tutors, and nurses, helping create educational opportunities for children who might otherwise lack access to quality education.

Primavera Men's Shelter

Join teams that prepare and serve dinner to approximately 100 men at Primavera Men's Shelter twice monthly. Volunteers prepare meals at the church kitchen in the morning and deliver and serve them in the evening. This service opportunity provides both nourishment and human connection to those experiencing homelessness.

Episcopal Relief & Development

Support global humanitarian work through this Episcopal organization serving nearly 40 countries. ERD addresses hunger, health, economic opportunity, and disaster relief worldwide. St. Alban's partners with ERD through financial contributions and awareness campaigns to respond to critical human needs.
